Harry XU showcased one of one favourite LFWM presentations, the SS18 collection carried on with the brands build on the sentiment of romanticised masculinity with a unique take on contemporary tailoring. The collection had transparent clothing that had his softness to them infused with the boldness of structured silhouettes, playing with the modern man’s idea of gender. The collection that takes inspiration from optical illusions of painter Yrjo Edelmann, is meant to plays with what is reality and the perceptions of the viewer, making its own ‘illusions’ through its mixing of fabrics and textures. The use of embroidery and metallics on the clothing made the collection somewhat a standout at London Fashion Week Men’s, we are excited to see more from Harry XU.
