Barbour international has been a leading motorcycle brand for over 80 years, and being the younger sibling to the well-known Barbour brand their first show at London Fashion Week Men’s was very significant. The brand did not disappoint and pulled out all the stops, piecing together past, present and future aspects of the brand and creating a truly inspired show. We got a look into the archives of the traditionally English brand and its heritage, learning about it origins and how it still relates to the modern man. The brand had attendees the likes of Johannes Huebi, Paul Sculfor, Eric Rutherford and Oliver Proudlock just to name a few.
The presentation showcased everyday clothing for the man on the go, that can easily be worn on the streets as well as riding through the country, including essential accessories like gloves, tote bags and scarves.
The collection also showed an artistic and poetic side, with their wax statement jackets being hand painted during the show, with sayings like “The Fields Must Have Dreamed The Roads From The Wind In Their Grass/ From The Shivers Of Sky In Their Grass/ That Whispers Ideas Of Freedom To Them”. Overall the show was incredibly beautiful and an amazing first show for the brand, we have no doubt Barbour international will continue to impress us.
